Let the Good Times Roll

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

Today, we want to talk about the good times.

We provide a lot of guidance on identifying challenges and developing solutions. To stay agile and adaptable in the evolving business market you need to hone these skills.

Equally important is celebrating and supporting your strengths. Taking time to understand the elements that contribute to these strengths will help you sustain them over time.

To keep the good times rolling, reflect on the following questions:

What are the things that are running well in your company? For example, are your employees known for consistently delivering good customer service?

Why does this facet of your company work well? Do you have a really good onboarding process that allows your employee to deeply understand their role in delivering good customer service? Do you have regular in-service training that allows employees to feel supported and confident?

Does this good stuff need any tweaks? Your company has evolved over time. Is there anything you would modify about onboarding? Is there anything you would add or delete from your training schedule?

How do you show appreciation for the good stuff? At the least, give yourself a pat on the back. We would suggest something more; a delicious treat, perhaps? Strengths don’t occur in a vacuum. Strengths are a reflection of the leadership in a company. They are built by good ideas being operationalized into policy and process. If there are other people in your organization that deserve some kudos for building up your strengths, take a moment to honor their hard work as well.

So don’t forget to periodically take some time to reflect on these questions to keep those good times rolling along!
