What an Amazing Time!

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

We are so lucky to have spent the afternoon with the amazing Women’s Club of the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce. We talked about cultivating a CEO perspective along with incorporating wellness strategies throughout the business day. We did all of this while being treated to the delicious seafood of Simar Seafood Cocina!

We know that this time of year can cause wellness plans to fly out the window as they seem to be the last thing on our to-do list. During our presentation, we discussed strategies that bring long lasting benefits in as little as 5 minutes a day.

As a gift for the holiday season, here are a few of the activities we shared. All of them can be done at home or at the office. They are super simple, don’t require any training and they have been shown to reduce stress and improve well being.

Who doesn’t want to feel better in as little as 5 minutes?

So take the plunge!

Pick one of these practices and give them a try (no matter where you are).

Gratitude Practice: Where attention goes, energy flows. What we pay attention to matters. When we focus on gratitude it creates changes in our brain that induces a more positive attitude

5 minute idea: Every evening before going to sleep, name 3 things you are proud of, 3 things you are grateful for, and one thing you are looking forward to.

Movement: Our bodies need movement to release the stress that is accumulated throughout the day. People often equate movement with exercise, but they are not the same thing. Exercise is focused on a specific goal. Movement is achievable in any setting throughout your day and provides much more flexibility in achieving wellness.

5 minute idea: Set timers throughout the day( particularly if you are sitting for long periods of time). When the timer goes off, move in some way. Walk around your office, march in place or go up and down the stairs in your building.

Yoga and Meditation: You do not need to know anything about either of these practices to give them a try. They both use breath and mindfulness to reboot your mind and relax your body. They focus on bringing your awareness to the moment and blocking out external distractions. This clears the information overload that builds up every day.

5 minute ideas:

May you find peace and relaxation! You deserve it!

Happy Holidays!
